Bridges and Blazers is a menswear editorial series for ICON Magazine Mena that explores the intersection of classic tailoring and contemporary street style. Shot on location against the historic architecture and stone embankments of a riverside city, the imagery emphasizes tactile textures through heavy wool overcoats, structured herringbone blazers, and layered knitwear. Photographer Nicolas Valois captures the subjects in a contemplative, documentary-led style, utilizing natural light to highlight the contrast between weathered masonry and refined garment construction. The project relies on a distinctive monochrome palette, employing pronounced film grain and analogue techniques to evoke a nostalgic, timeless atmosphere. Fashion editor and stylist Kim Payne directs the sartorial vision, incorporating diverse elements such as pleated kilts and leather accessories to update traditional silhouettes. The production was overseen by Jean-Marc Mondelet, with hair styling by Jean-Luc Amarin, resulting in a cohesive series that balances architectural monumentality with intimate, character-driven portraiture.
