Fear of God
CALIFORNIA 1.0 ENCORE

Jul 2026
The California 1.0 Encore campaign serves as a masterclass in modern brand storytelling for the luxury footwear industry, stripping back the noise to highlight the architectural silhouette of the slip-on shoe. Through a series of highly considered visual executions, the project leans into a minimalist aesthetic that bridges the gap between utilitarian design and high-fashion art. Photographer Arcin Sagdic captures the footwear with precision, employing clean studio strobe lighting to emphasize the smooth, sculptural textures of the product, while art director Adrian Lopez orchestrates a visual language that feels both systematic and deeply refined. The campaign design, overseen by founder and designer Jerry Lorenzo, utilizes a stark, high-contrast monochrome palette alongside bold, sans-serif typography to create a sense of cohesive brand identity. Whether through a complex abstract collage or the clean, 3D render-inspired presentation of the product, the imagery avoids traditional marketing tropes in favor of an archival, design-forward sensibility. This is commercial photography that functions as graphic art, utilizing repetitive geometric patterns and subtle layering effects to ground the brand in a space of polished, contemporary cool. By prioritizing the structural integrity of the California 1.0 silhouette, the creative team successfully elevates a functional slip-on into an object of pure design, reinforcing Fear of God as a leader in elevated essentialist fashion.
