Gilded Reimagined is a fashion editorial series produced for Elle China, capturing a series of stylized, polished portraits. The work features model Cici Xiang Yejing, centered within a carefully curated studio environment that utilizes painterly, sage-green and ochre backdrops marked by distressed gold leaf textures. The project is defined by a warm, soft-light aesthetic that emphasizes tactile elements—from voluminous feathered skirts and structured wool coats to metallic brocade and quilted leather accessories. Photographer Mario Wang employs a mood-focused approach to the shoot, utilizing graphic compositions and directional lighting to balance the intricate, ornate jewellery and sculptural silhouettes featured throughout the editorial.
