Captured by photographer Nam J, the Guan Chao project for Elle China explores a maritime-inspired aesthetic through a series of fashion editorial images. Set against coastal backdrops ranging from sandy beaches to sailboats, the production channels a clean, adventurous tone that merges utilitarian diving gear and resort wear with contemporary silhouettes. The editorial utilizes natural light to emphasize varied textures, from wet hair and knitwear to patterned silk headscarves. The series features models Jiahui Zhang, Qun Ye, and Yanan Wan, with production support provided by casting director Summer Chen. Hair styling by Zhao Wenzhi and make-up by Bing Bing enhance the polished, coastal look across both colour and monochrome captures, grounding the project in a refined editorial style.
