Back in Motion

Apr 2026
Back in Motion, the latest campaign from Carnale Room, redefines the intersection of athletic performance and high-end apparel. Through a series of stark, high-key editorial portraits, the project explores the tension between the human form and structured fashion, utilizing minimalist studio environments to strip away distraction. Creative director Augusto Arduini orchestrates a visual narrative where movement is the primary language; models are captured in gravity-defying, contorted, and dynamic poses that emphasize the architecture of the garments. Photographer Isabelle Wenzel leans into a clean, sculptural aesthetic, employing natural light to highlight the intricate textures—from feathered miniskirts to glossy patent leather and complex crochet tunics. The styling, curated by fashion editor Silvia Gabrielli, juxtaposes athletic-inspired silhouettes with sharp, high-fashion footwear, creating an equilibrium between utility and luxury. By utilizing live-action techniques to frame the body as a performative tool, the imagery moves beyond traditional product photography to capture a raw, kinetic energy. Even the utilitarian inclusion of simple studio details, such as wall outlets, serves to anchor the ethereal poses in a grounding, industrial reality. This campaign serves as a masterclass in editorial minimalism, proving that when the background is simplified to its most basic elements, the focus shifts entirely toward the fluid interplay of fabric, balance, and human strength.
