Description

The BackBone project by Carnale Room serves as a masterclass in the intersection of luxury fashion houses and avant-garde visual storytelling. Under the focused creative direction of Augusto Arduini, the campaign strips away the superfluous to deliver a stark, high-fashion editorial aesthetic that prioritizes sculptural silhouettes and tactile tension. Through a series of clean diptychs, the work captures the raw interplay between high-end accessories and the human form, moving effortlessly from the rigid, glossy architecture of sculptural footwear to the vulnerable, emotive posture of the human back. Photographer Riccardo Meroni anchors these compositions with precision, utilizing both natural light and controlled studio strobe techniques to accentuate the depth of materials, ranging from rich, dark leather and sheer hosiery to voluminous synthetic hair and rhinestone embellishments. The project leans into a minimalist portraiture style, where the reduction of visual noise allows the unusual proportions of the garments to become the central subject of the narrative. By eschewing typical lifestyle staging in favor of a clean, graphic quality, BackBone establishes a bold identity that feels equally at home in an experimental art publication as it does within the pages of a global fashion powerhouse, ultimately defining a new standard for modern, conceptual luxury presentation.
