American Vogue
King Of The Road

Mar 2026
In King Of The Road, American Vogue redefines the traditional celebrity profile by framing global icon Bad Bunny through a lens of eclectic Americana and cinematic grandeur. Photographer Coco Capitan captures the entertainer across a sprawling, diverse itinerary that ranges from the sun-drenched, arid expanses of the desert to the opulent, ornate interiors of a luxury hotel. Styled by fashion editor Harry Lambert, the editorial thrives on juxtapositions: Bad Bunny pivots seamlessly from a sharply tailored, mustard-yellow suit in a grand, high-ceilinged room to the tongue-in-cheek casualness of a souvenir t-shirt against a desert backdrop. The project leans into a nostalgic, analogue aesthetic, utilizing 35mm film and distinct film-strip borders that evoke the raw, spontaneous energy of a road trip. Visual director Paige Viti and set designer Colin Phelan anchor these disparate locations with a cohesive, editorial minimalism, ensuring the narrative remains centered on the subject’s commanding presence. Techniques such as natural light capture, intentional high-key and cinematic framing, and the integration of live-action film aesthetics serve to elevate this media and entertainment feature beyond standard portraiture. By blending the grandeur of traditional high fashion with a gritty, sun-baked travelogue feel, the series creates a compelling visual dialogue between luxury and the open road, solidifying an aesthetic that feels both intimately personal and larger than life.
