Her poetic, narrative-driven imagery invites viewers into a world where emotion and storytelling intertwine. Born in Seville, Spain, and currently residing in London, Capitán earned her Master of Fine Arts with honors in Photography from the prestigious Royal College of Art in 2016. Her diverse artistic practice bridges the realms of fine art and commercial endeavors, encompassing photography, painting, and prose. Capitán has collaborated with iconic brands such as Gucci, Dior, Converse, Paco Rabanne, Maje, and Maison Margiela, showcasing her work in esteemed publications including British Vogue, The New York Times Magazine, Self Service, Dazed & Confused, M Le Monde, Document Journal, and Vogue. Her artistic journey has been marked by three significant solo museum exhibitions: her inaugural institutional show at MEP in Paris, the Daelim Museum in Seoul, Korea, and MoCA in Shanghai. These exhibitions, featuring nearly 150 works, create an immersive experience that draws audiences into Capitán's unique universe. The curated path is punctuated by distinct series that often merge photography with text, including evocative landscapes of the American West that highlight abandoned infrastructures and a critical exploration of consumer society, reflecting her deep connection to Pop Art.
