Femme Forte is a fashion editorial series for Altered States Magazine that explores the intersection of high-concept styling and athletic physique. Captured by photographer Sandra Seaton, the project leans into a minimalist aesthetic, utilising soft studio lighting to accentuate the muscular contours of the subjects against neutral, seamless backdrops. The series features avant-garde fashion styling by Hannah Elwell, who pairs sculptural garments and intricate textures—such as pearl mesh and heavy hemp rope—with sleek, grounded silhouettes. The visual narrative is defined by dynamic, motion-focused posing and a focus on sharp physical form. Hair styling by Masashi Konno and makeup by Terry Barber provide a polished, high-contrast finish to the editorial, maintaining a consistent focus on raw strength and sculptural detail throughout the collection.
