Parallel is a fashion editorial series for Also Journal that explores the intersection of high-concept silhouettes and industrial minimalism. Shot by photographer Ramona Deckers, the project places model Yang Xiu Ling within stark, architectural settings—from concrete stairwells and paved urban streets to industrial utility corridors. The aesthetic centers on a clean, graphic visual language that emphasizes the sculptural nature of the garments. The series leans into a tactile approach, capturing complex textures like fringe, metallic leathers, and ribbed furs against cold, neutral backdrops. Makeup artistry by Rie Shiraishi complements the minimalist styling with precise, bold applications that anchor the editorial's focused, contemplative mood.
