Acne Studios
Spring 2024 Ad Campaign

Mar 2024
Acne Studios continues to define the intersection of contemporary edge and refined minimalism with its Spring 2024 ad campaign. Under the creative direction of Jonny Johansson, the campaign leans into an aesthetic of editorial minimalism, characterized by a clean, deliberate approach to high-fashion imagery. Through the lens of photographer Charlotte Wales, the collection is brought to life by the members of the K-pop group ILLIT, who navigate the studio space with composed confidence. The visuals rely heavily on studio strobe lighting to achieve a high-key finish that renders every texture—from distressed acid-wash denim and structured leather to intricate lace-up details—with clinical precision. Styling by Léopold Duchemin reinforces this modern sensibility, pairing utilitarian denim silhouettes with whimsical, decorative accessories like bow-adorned handbags that soften the overall look. By utilizing a neutral, softly lit palette, the imagery places full emphasis on the interplay of fabric and form, maintaining a cohesive narrative that feels both accessible and distinctly avant-garde. The collaboration between Hair stylist Kiyoko Odo, Makeup artist Ana Takahashi, and Set Designer Alice Kirkpatrick contributes to a polished, symmetrical visual language. This campaign succeeds by stripping away excess, allowing the inherent design quality of the garments to command the viewer’s attention within the serene, monochromatic environment of the studio.
