Theo Wenner, a New York native, spent his formative years oscillating between the vibrant streets of New York and the serene landscapes of Hailey, Idaho. He honed his artistic vision at Bard College, where he studied film and photography under the esteemed artist Stephen Shore. Wenner’s photography is characterized by a deeply personal and intimate approach, capturing the essence of his friends, family, and the world around him. This unique perspective has become the hallmark of his distinctive style. Upon graduating from Bard, Wenner swiftly embarked on a professional career, collaborating with leading publications such as Document Journal, i-D, Self Service, Love Magazine, American Vogue, Italian Vogue, and Rolling Stone. His striking imagery has also graced high-profile advertising campaigns for renowned brands like Calvin Klein, Chanel, Chloe, Levi’s, Marc Jacobs, and Supreme. In addition to his photography, Wenner is an accomplished director, with a portfolio that includes dynamic music videos for acclaimed artists such as The Black Keys, Mark Ronson, and Tame Impala. Notably, his video for The Black Keys’ single “Fever” garnered a nomination for Video of the Year, further solidifying his reputation as a multifaceted creative force in the contemporary art and music scene.
