It was during this time that he enrolled in a black and white film and digital photography course, a decision that would prove transformative. As he juggled his busy soccer schedule, Matthew discovered photography, and in his own words, “it was like a light bulb turned on.” Though he had previously identified more as a jock than an artist, this revelation ignited a passion that propelled him to New York, where he honed his skills at the prestigious School of Visual Arts. Now, over a decade later, Matthew has established himself as a prominent figure in fashion and beauty photography. His signature style is characterized by a masterful interplay of light and a meticulously curated color palette, which imbue his images with a contemporary sophistication. His work has graced the pages of esteemed publications such as Allure, Architectural Digest, InStyle, Interview, Kinfolk, Porter, Russh, Sunday Times Style, T Singapore, Teen Vogue, and Vogue—across its various international editions.
