Laurent Moynat
Bio
Laurent embarked on his photographic journey in 1993, quickly earning notable accolades, including the prestigious Major Ilford Book Award and the Broncolor Prize at Arles. These early recognitions paved the way for a prolific career, marked by a diverse portfolio of advertising commissions and editorial work, with a particular focus on fashion and portraiture. Today, Laurent divides his time between the vibrant cities of Paris and Toulouse, where he established Studio Lucette in 2011. This creative hub, staffed by a team of seasoned photographers, serves as both a professional workspace and a dynamic venue for artistic exchange. Laurent's artistic philosophy revolves around the concept of the “non-photo”—capturing fleeting moments that evoke genuine emotions and optical sensations. He often takes photographs without raising his camera, striving to reveal the “true” image that transcends conventional formatting and formal aesthetics. In 2016, driven by a desire to delve deeper into the human experience, Laurent began to explore the realms of documentary and culinary photography. His sensitive and intuitive approach flourished in these genres, allowing him to weave together the essence of human connection, the poetry of intimacy, and the raw beauty of unembellished subjects.
