Bio
Amanda Charchian is an innovative artist whose work beautifully intertwines feminine sensuality with themes of both grandeur and intimacy. A graduate of Otis College of Art and Design, where she earned her BFA in 2010, Amanda's artistic journey began with a deep exploration of painting and sculpture. Her groundbreaking exhibition, “Pheromone Hotbox,” showcased at the Stephen Kasher Gallery in New York City in 2015, marked a pivotal moment in her career, leading to her first fine art photography monograph published by Hat&Beard Press/Dilettante Paper. In 2018, she further captivated audiences with "7 Types of Love" at Fahey/Klein Gallery, a thought-provoking series inspired by Canadian psychologist John Allen Lee’s interpretations of love based on ancient Greek philosophy. Charchian's most recent body of work, first revealed at Huxley-Parlour Gallery in 2018, masterfully blends her foundational skills in painting with contemporary black-and-white nude studies, all while drawing on the phenomenology of architecture. This evolving series is set to culminate in a second monograph and solo exhibition in 2023. Represented by Fahey/Klein Gallery in Los Angeles, Amanda divides her time between Paris and Los Angeles, where she actively engages in a range of creative projects. Her impressive portfolio includes collaborations with renowned brands such as Gucci, Cartier, Vogue Italia, and Bulgari, as well as work with music icons like Billie Eilish, Travis Scott, and Alicia Keys. Through her diverse artistic endeavors, Amanda Charchian continues to redefine the boundaries of contemporary art.
