Burberry FW26 BOH: Ruffle Up

Feb 2026
Captured with a moody, cinematic lens, the Burberry FW26 BOH: Ruffle Up editorial project serves as a masterclass in high-fashion storytelling. Through the creative vision of designer Daniel Lee, this collection leans into structural innovation and tactile indulgence, blending iconic house codes with a sharp, contemporary edge. Photographer Fran Gomez de Villaboa employs low-key lighting and dramatic chiaroscuro techniques to highlight the voluminous faux fur coats, glossy leather trench pieces, and sculptural ruffle details that define the season. The imagery is deeply grounded in texture, from the heavy weight of wool and fleece to the intricate check patterns on signature handbags, all brought to life through the polished, editorial minimalism of the styling. Casting directors Anita Bitton and Richard Nguyen have assembled a diverse ensemble—including Romeo Beckham and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley—who occupy the dark, indistinct backdrops with a composed, steady intensity. Complementing the photography, the hair styling by Holli Smith and makeup artistry by Lauren Parsons enhance the raw, atmospheric nature of the portraits, ensuring each frame reads as an elevated study in silhouette and light. This series, featured in a WWD special edition, effectively bridges the gap between backstage candidness and refined studio editorial, cementing the collection as a bold exploration of luxury fashion house identity.
