High Contrast is a fashion editorial series for WSJ, captured by photographer Viviane Sassen. The project leans into bold, graphic sensibilities, utilizing vibrant, saturated colour blocks and directional studio lighting to cast sharp shadows against studio backgrounds. Through a series of dynamic portraits, the imagery emphasizes architectural silhouettes and sculptural styling. The editorial features model Rejoice Chuol, with fashion styling curated by Clare Richardson. The production integrates structural props and clean, high-impact set design to achieve its visual depth. Additional creative contributions include hair by Cim Mahony, makeup by Mathias van Hooff, set design by Gemma Tickle, and casting by Julia Lange.
