Wallpaper Magazine
Fade to Grey

Apr 2026
In Fade to Grey, Wallpaper Magazine leans into the quiet power of restraint through a sophisticated series of fashion portraits that celebrate the art of the monochromatic silhouette. This project acts as a masterclass in editorial minimalism, stripping away visual noise to focus entirely on the architectural integrity of luxury garments. Photographer Sasha Marro captures a series of striking images that prioritize texture and form, utilizing diffused natural light to accentuate the rich grain of tweed, the supple sheen of leather, and the intricate, delicate patterns of sheer lace. Central to the narrative is model Emese Nyiro, whose neutral, direct gaze anchors the compositions, allowing the sharp tailoring directed by fashion editor Jason Hughes to take center stage. The styling is defined by a rigorous focus on clean lines, where an oversized wool blazer or an asymmetric cutout skirt becomes an exercise in poise and modern elegance. Makeup artist Sunao Takahashi punctuates the otherwise muted, grey-toned palette with deliberate accents, most notably a deep red lip that provides a singular, bold focal point. By embracing a minimalist aesthetic, the team creates an atmosphere of timelessness, demonstrating that high-fashion storytelling does not require excess to command attention. Instead, the collection relies on precise composition and the tactile quality of the materials to resonate as a definitive, forward-thinking editorial feature.
