Vogue Portugal presents Beauty Study, an editorial exploration of form, texture, and cosmetic precision. The project leans into a minimalist aesthetic, utilizing tight, macro framing and clean studio backdrops to isolate and elevate individual elements—from detailed facial features to the tools of the trade. Photographed by Oda Eide, the series balances raw skin texture with intentional, sculptural styling to create a study of visual contrasts. Fashion editor Rachel Simone complements the imagery with a collection of bold metallic accessories and sleek garments, while makeup artist Elena Bettanello drives the project’s conceptual core. Bettanello employs a range of techniques, from smudged, high-contrast smokey eyes and bleached brows to precise, glossy finishes, ensuring each portrait maintains a sharp, graphic quality. The execution relies on soft, directional lighting that consistently highlights natural skin tones and the interplay of light on reflective surfaces.
