Vogue China celebrates its 20th anniversary with a expansive September 2025 editorial series. Captured by photographer Elizaveta Porodina, the covers lean into atmospheric and painterly aesthetics, utilizing low-key chiaroscuro lighting and soft, directional glows to define the anniversary portraits. Under the direction of Editor-in-Chief Rocco Liu, the project features a cast of prominent models including Chu Wong, Du Juan, FeiFei Sun, He Cong, Lina Zhang, Ming Xi, Shu Pei Qin, and Xiao Wen Ju. The fashion magazine editorial utilizes distinct, sculptural styling by Liu Xiao, which focuses on voluminous knits, textured tailoring, and dramatic silhouettes. Complementing the visual identity, hair stylist Zhou Xue Ming and makeup artist Valentina Li provide a polished, defined finish that bridges the surreal and the classical. The imagery makes frequent use of reflective surfaces and mirror frames to create layered, vertical compositions, emphasizing a moody, painterly quality across the anniversary issue.
