Loose Up is an editorial fashion series for Tidal Magazine captured by photographer Mei Tao. The project leans into intimate framing and tactile detailing to explore contemporary styling, moving between clean minimal portraits and complex, layered ensembles. Fashion editor Suthee Ritthaworn curated a range of pieces, from understated rib-knit textures to a maximalist patchwork robe composed of velvet and brocade. The visual approach utilizes moody, soft-focus lighting to highlight intricate hair artistry by Chika F.K, which includes messy top knots and dual stacked buns. With makeup by Mika Shimoda, the series maintains a focus on skin texture and raw, naturalistic elements. The work is presented across a dark, minimalist backdrop, emphasizing the interplay between the subjects and their garments through an editorial lens.
