For Mixte, "The Secret Party" is a high-fashion editorial series that leans into surreal, theatrical compositions. Captured by photographer Julius Bohlin, the imagery bridges formal couture tailoring with whimsical, evocative props—ranging from balloon sculptures and feathered masks to burning sparklers and candelabras. The aesthetic moves between moody, low-key chiaroscuro portraits and clean, high-contrast studio shots, often using deep, saturated backdrops of burgundy and plum to ground the elaborate ensembles. Fashion editor and stylist Kevin Lanoy creates a dense, layered visual narrative, incorporating sculptural headwear and intricate textures that defy traditional silhouettes. With model Elizabeth Nepola serving as the primary muse, the project benefits from the meticulous hair styling of Hiromi Nishinaka and makeup by Jenny Jansson. Casting by Theo Spencer brings a deliberate, composed energy to the series, which is rendered with an analogue / film sensibility that highlights the tactile quality of the garments.
