Sister Sister is a beauty editorial project commissioned by The Beauty Department, centered on minimalist studio portraits that celebrate portraiture and clean skin textures. The series employs a mix of monochrome and high-contrast color photography to explore form and poise through a consistent, refined visual language. Photographer Daniel Goode captures the subjects in intimate, deliberate poses, utilizing both hard directional lighting for graphic shadow and soft beauty lighting to highlight natural skin features. Creative direction by Nadine Monley and Chloe Rahall ensures a cohesive aesthetic throughout the series, complemented by deliberate fashion styling from Emily Gittany. Techniques such as chiaroscuro and clean studio setups ground the work in a contemporary editorial style, while post-production retouching by Sarah Donvito emphasizes polished, luminous finishes.
