Teeth Magazine
Set in Opposition

Apr 2026
Set in Opposition for Teeth Magazine is a sophisticated fashion editorial that masterfully explores the intersection of strategy and style. By utilizing a high-contrast monochrome palette, the project channels the rigid structure of a chess match into a series of striking visual narratives. The imagery leans into a minimalist aesthetic, where the geometric precision of a chessboard grid provides a backdrop for avant-garde couture. Through a blend of fine art composition and commercial polish, the project employs techniques like double exposure and digital VFX to fragment the human form, mirroring the strategic placement of chess pieces. Models Kirandeep Chahal and Laetitia Thalien embody this tension, moving through neutral, sparse environments that prioritize the tactile quality of the textiles. With the detailed makeup artistry of Charlie Murray accentuating the sharp, contemporary silhouettes, the work succeeds in balancing soft, natural light with clinical studio strobe setups. The resulting editorial portrait series reads as a contemplative dialogue between the organic elegance of the subjects and the mathematical starkness of their setting. Each frame is a deliberate study in balance, where the juxtaposition of raw, fringed hems against polished surfaces creates a compelling, modern tension that challenges traditional fashion photography conventions. This project stands as a testament to the power of clean, focused design in high-end editorial storytelling.
