'Light Touch' TANK x Gucci Beauty

Jun 2026
In a sophisticated alignment of high-fashion sensibility and cosmetics expertise, the collaboration between Tank Magazine and Gucci Beauty, titled Light Touch, redefines the minimalist beauty editorial. This project moves away from heavy-handed cosmetic aesthetics, favoring instead a narrative of luminous, dewy skin and refined pigment play. Through a series of tight-crop portraits and clinical packshots, the editorial captures the intersection of luxury design and raw cosmetic texture. Photographer Oda Eide leans into a clean, studio-lit aesthetic, utilizing studio strobe lighting to emphasize the reflective qualities of the products against a neutral backdrop. Makeup artist Adele Sanderson plays with a palette of soft, mint green shimmers and warm, glossy peach tones, expertly applied to model Cosima von Moreau to create a modern, high-fashion look that feels both accessible and aspirational. The creative vision is grounded in editorial minimalism, ensuring the focus remains squarely on the nuances of the product application. Macro photography techniques are employed to reveal the granular details of eyeshadow pigments and the sleek architecture of lipstick tubes, effectively bridging the gap between artistic portraiture and commercial product storytelling. By avoiding unnecessary artifice, the project serves as a compelling study in contemporary beauty, where casting direction by Lucy Rogers ensures the visuals resonate with a refined, understated elegance that is synonymous with the Gucci house style.
