Special Projects
Photography by Carlos Folmo

May 2026
In this series of editorial portraits, photographer Carlos Folmo masterfully navigates the intersection of luxury fashion and conceptual minimalism. By leaning into an aesthetic defined by rigorous restraint, the project strips away visual noise to focus on the essential interplay between garment and form. Across the body of work, Folmo utilizes soft natural light to illuminate the textures of tailored cream-colored suits, leather-like trim, and layered fabrics, creating a clean, architectural quality that feels both timeless and contemporary. The styling, curated by Juan Corrales, emphasizes clean lines and structural elements—from oversized flat-top hats to the clever use of plastic sheeting—which brings a sculptural dimension to the portraiture. With grooming contributions from hair stylist Yumiko Hikage and makeup artist Ruben Masoliver, the subjects maintain a neutral, direct gaze that anchors the composition, allowing the garments to command equal attention alongside the human form. Under the strategic eye of casting director Arthur Méjean and the minimalist environment crafted by set designer Victor Leverrier, each frame reads as a deliberate study in balance. The result is a sophisticated portfolio that aligns with the refined visual language of modern luxury fashion houses, showcasing a cohesive vision where every shadow and seam is purposefully placed to elevate the final portrait.
