Bio

Yumiko is a Tokyoese hairstylist currently based in Paris. She studied cinema and literature at university, which shaped her creative interests towards photography, art, and beauty. Starting her career in a hair salon in Tokyo, she soon assisted renowned session hairstylists before establishing her own identity in the industry. Drawing inspiration from expressionist and surrealist art as well as sculpture, Yumiko is known for her distinctive graphic styles. She is adept in wig making and showcases a knack for creating styles rich in shape, texture, and color. Her work has appeared in influential publications like Buffalo Zine, Document Journal, and Vogue and she has collaborated with high-profile clients including Louis Vuitton and Kenzo. Additionally, Yumiko serves as a brand ambassador for Hair Rituel by Sisley, where her innovative head spa concept based on Tokyoese Shiatsu massage is integrated into Sisley's international treatments.
