Sixteen Journal presents CRASH, a fashion editorial project that explores high-contrast aesthetics through an automotive lens. Featuring model Alva Claire, the series utilizes an analogue film approach to capture cinematic tension, set against both gritty urban environments and moody, low-key studio spaces. Photographer Sam Nixon leans into raw, atmospheric textures, using haze, dramatic flash, and cool-toned lighting to emphasize the reflective surfaces of a vintage blue vehicle. The project relies on layered styling by fashion editor Ronnie Hart, whose use of structured corsetry, leather, and hosiery complements the industrial backdrop. Additional production depth is provided by hair stylist Evanie Frausto, makeup artist Kuma, and set designer Kate Stein, with Wei Li Wang managing production.
