Sixteen Journal explores the urban fabric of India in its Mumbai editorial project. Captured by photographer Bharat Sikka, the series offers a series of observational portraits and street scenes that document the city’s quiet, contemplative rhythms. Employing a mix of documentary-style reportage and editorial portraiture, the collection leans into moody, atmospheric framing. The work utilises natural light and analogue film techniques to highlight raw textures, from the weathered stucco of building facades to the interplay of shadows in vintage cinema lobbies. The result is a grounded, earthy study of an urban environment.
