Sicky Magazine presents The Faces I Hide, an editorial fashion series that explores a dichotomy of light and shadow. Photographer Mauro Matalone and stylist Ale Lozano construct a visual narrative through contrasting studio environments, oscillating between high-key, minimalist white backdrops and moody, low-key chiaroscuro settings. The project leans into diverse techniques, ranging from sharp, natural light portraiture to the use of long exposure and multiple exposure effects. Lozano’s styling emphasizes structured tailoring and intricate fabric textures, from heavy leather and wool to delicate tulle and lace, creating a tactile depth that complements Matalone’s cinematic lighting choices.
