The Séance of Self for Rouge Fashionbook is a series of fashion editorials defined by a raw, cinematic aesthetic. Captured by photographer Sam Marie-Saint, the project leans into a moody, introspective atmosphere through the use of low-key lighting and high-contrast chiaroscuro techniques. The imagery frequently utilizes analogue film formatting, often presenting frames with visible sprocket holes and raw margins that ground the production in a traditional editorial sensibility. Fashion editor and stylist Michael Andrew curates a sharp, formal aesthetic featuring structured tailoring, tuxedo elements, and heavy accessories. The visual narrative is supported by intricate hair styling from Shinya Nakagawa, detailed makeup artistry by Ai Yokomizo, and manicures by Lolly Koon. Featuring models Alex Consani, Daria Danilenko, Diogo Gomes, and Weiyi Fang, the series explores dramatic portraiture and intimate group dynamics against dark, textured backdrops.
