PSS
Brand Identity

Jul 2020
The brand identity for Practice Safe Sets, or PSS, masterfully translates the technical rigor of professional filmmaking into a cohesive, minimalist visual language. Developed by Cossette, the project leans into a disciplined monochrome aesthetic that bridges the gap between high-stakes production environments and essential workplace safety protocols. By utilizing a stark black-and-white palette, the design channels an air of cinematic authority that feels both utilitarian and sophisticated. The execution spans a wide array of touchpoints, from clean UI illustration for digital platforms to tactile, corporate collateral like branded apparel and structured production documents. The use of bold, sans-serif typography across all assets creates a rhythmic grid-based layout that prioritizes clear communication, a necessity for the project's core mission of disseminating film production guidelines. Through the effective use of low-key chiaroscuro lighting in the associated imagery, the identity captures the gritty, behind-the-scenes reality of a film crew while maintaining the polished presentation of a modern consultancy. By integrating 3D render techniques and vector-based precision, the team has crafted an identity that functions as a toolkit for safety, ensuring that the serious nature of set operations is met with equally professional, highly organized design standards. This identity successfully turns vital industry documentation into a branded experience that is as visually compelling as it is functional.
