Captured for the Autumn/Winter 2021 issue of Pop Magazine, 'River' is a comprehensive fashion editorial project featuring model River Klein. The series moves through a variety of urban and domestic settings, leaning into a documentary-style aesthetic that prioritizes candid movement and environmental texture. Across these spreads, photographer Laura Jane Coulson utilizes natural light to highlight the intricate layering and eclectic patterns of the wardrobe curated by fashion editor and stylist Helga Burrill. The project incorporates a mix of colour and high-contrast monochrome photography, utilizing analogue film techniques to create a nostalgic, grainy atmosphere. The styling process, supported by hair stylist Dylan Chavles and makeup artist Emi Kaneko, emphasizes a relaxed, contemporary streetwear sensibility. Casting for the feature was directed by Ben Grimes.
