Captured for the Autumn/Winter 2021 issue of Pop Magazine, 'River' is a comprehensive fashion editorial featuring model River Klein. The project leans into a documentary-style aesthetic, moving through a diverse range of urban settings and domestic scenes that highlight layered, contemporary apparel. The photography, led by Laura Jane Coulson, maintains a cohesive visual identity through the consistent use of natural light and tactile, analogue film techniques. Helga Burrill curates a wardrobe of relaxed streetwear and textured knitwear, complemented by hair styling from Dylan Chavles and makeup by Emi Kaneko. The series oscillates between intimate, candid portraits and wide-angle architectural shots, employing various techniques including long exposure to capture motion and high-contrast monochrome grading to evoke a cinematic mood.
