Girls had fun

Apr 2026
The Girls Had Fun campaign for Playboy marks a sophisticated evolution in the heritage brand's visual identity, leaning into a playful yet refined aesthetic that blurs the lines between classic luxury fashion houses and modern editorial sensibilities. Under the guidance of creative director Marie Suter and the sharp eye of photographer Mari Sarai, the series masterfully utilizes editorial minimalism to strip away artifice, allowing the interplay of color and form to take center stage. Fashion editor and stylist Tsuyoshi Noguchi punctuates the compositions with bold, unexpected accents, such as the recurring neon yellow tape and vibrant red bodysuits that pop against carefully considered, neutral backdrops. Throughout the set, the photography relies heavily on direct, natural light and crisp studio strobe lighting to create a clean, contemporary energy. Whether playing with reflections to create symmetrical narratives or using bold graphic props to disrupt the frame, the project captures a sense of spontaneous, high-fashion storytelling. The integration of leopard-print textures and delicate black lace offers a tactile contrast to the clinical precision of the white studio environments. By prioritizing a dynamic, portrait-led approach, the project manages to feel both intimate and iconic, reinforcing Playboy's enduring status as a cultural force while presenting a fresh, curated perspective on the lifestyle genre that resonates with today’s fashion-forward audience.
