In A Piece of Me, a striking editorial project produced for ODDA Magazine, photographer Angelo Lamparelli and fashion editor Simone Rutigliano dismantle the traditional conventions of the fashion portrait to explore the human anatomy as a raw, sculptural canvas. The collection functions as a multidisciplinary study, seamlessly blending high-fashion editorial aesthetics with conceptual fine art techniques. Throughout the series, the team, including hair stylist Davide Perfetti and makeup artist Filippo Ferrari, leans into a clinical yet surreal atmosphere, where subjects are transformed through the application of vibrant gels, intricate beaded accessories, and avant-garde layered garments. The imagery—frequently utilizing studio strobe lighting to achieve high-key clarity—is punctuated by mathematical overlays and typographic sketches that suggest a deconstructed, anatomical guide. This experimental approach is further pushed by the use of collage and physical manipulation of prints, as seen in the fragmented portraiture and analogue film textures that anchor the project in a tactile reality. By juxtaposing fluid, organic elements against rigid studio environments, the project captures a tension between the body and its environment. With expert casting by Mattia Marazzi, the subjects maintain an imposing, deliberate presence, successfully positioning the work at the intersection of academic illustration and contemporary style to interrogate how we perceive the figure in a modern, commercial context.
