Surreal Summer is a fashion editorial series for Numéro Switzerland that explores the interplay between high-fashion silhouettes and raw, volcanic coastal landscapes. Captured by photographer Xavi Gordo, the project leans into a moody, atmospheric aesthetic, utilizing natural light to contrast sculptural garment lines against the rugged textures of dark rock formations and tidal pools. The editorial features model Maaike Klaasen, whose short-cropped style and deliberate poses anchor the visual narrative. The execution relies on a monochromatic palette and sharp high-contrast photography to emphasize the architectural details of the clothing, ranging from draped gowns to structured, knit ensembles. Fashion editor Carola Bianchi frames these looks with bold metallic accessories, while hair and makeup by Jordi Fontanals maintain a grounded, organic feel. Developed under the creative leadership of editor-in-chief Sebastián Magunacelaya, the series incorporates both color and analogue-style black-and-white photography to build its thematic depth. Executive producer Raquel Sueiro Brea and casting director Simone Bart Rocchietti complete the core creative team for this project.
