Surreal Summer is a fashion editorial series for Numéro Switzerland, captured by photographer Xavi Gordo. Set against a rugged, volcanic coastline, the project leans into high-contrast monochrome and atmospheric golden hour tones to highlight sculptural silhouettes. The imagery contrasts the desolate, rocky terrain with refined, textural garments, utilizing natural light to shape the interplay between soft fabric and hard stone. Under the creative direction of editor-in-chief Sebastián Magunacelaya, the series features model Maaike Klaasen. The editorial team includes fashion styling by Carola Bianchi and hair and makeup by Jordi Fontanals, with executive production by Raquel Sueiro Brea and casting by Simone Bart Rocchietti. Throughout the series, the aesthetic shifts between moody, grainy black-and-white portraits and expansive, warm-hued outdoor shots, incorporating subtle botanical elements and analogue film techniques.
