Between Shores

Mar 2026
Between Shores, a sophisticated fashion editorial produced for Numéro Switzerland, masterfully balances the tension between high-end luxury fashion and the stark, unvarnished textures of an urban environment. Guided by the visionary perspective of creative director Manman Mira and brought to life through the lens of photographer Haoyu Jin, the project captures the model Vaiora Stroganoff in a series of striking, high-angle compositions that transform mundane city infrastructure into a minimalist stage. The work leans into a deliberate juxtaposition, pairing structured, opulent textiles—such as voluminous faux fur, intricate leather sets, and fluid, draped gowns—with the industrial grit of grey asphalt, weathered concrete, and geometric paving stones. This editorial aesthetic relies heavily on soft, diffused natural light, which harmonizes the vivid, saturated pops of coral, pale yellow, and cognac against the series' muted, neutral color palette. By incorporating organic elements like fresh produce, flowering plants, and dried flora into these stark industrial scenes, the team creates a compelling visual dialogue between human-made architecture and natural form. With production oversight by Nick Lv, the project successfully elevates street-level surroundings into the realm of high fashion, offering a clean, calculated portraiture style that feels both spontaneous and meticulously curated within the broader landscape of contemporary luxury photography.
