Numéro Switzerland
Joan of Lúmina

May 2026
In Joan of Lúmina, Numéro Switzerland delivers a masterclass in high-fashion storytelling, seamlessly merging the rugged aesthetics of medieval armor with contemporary structural silhouettes. Under the sharp creative direction and styling of Serafin Zielinski, the project leans into an ethereal, avant-garde tension, brought to life through the visceral presence of model Sylwia Kuta. The editorial narrative is anchored by the evocative photography of Artur Próchnicki, who expertly navigates the interplay between light and shadow. By employing a sophisticated chiaroscuro technique, the imagery renders the human form as a series of sculptural gestures, juxtaposing the raw, cold sheen of steel gauntlets against the tactile, flowing depth of ruffles and sequins. The project utilizes high-key light to emphasize transition and motion, while deep, low-key lighting isolates the subject in a void, focusing the viewer entirely on the intricate geometry of the garments. Whether capturing the spectral fluidity of a figure emerging from darkness or the still, metallic gaze of a warrior-poet, the work channels a cinematic quality that feels both timeless and aggressively modern. This synthesis of dramatic studio strobe techniques and natural light highlights, creates a visual feast of texture and form, firmly establishing a bold, atmospheric identity for the fashion editorial.
