Description
Kyoto Song is an editorial fashion feature produced for Modern Weekly China. The series centers on model Mika Schneider, capturing a series of portraits and full-length studies set against the traditional architectural backdrop of Kyoto. Photographed by Tess Ayano and styled by Tim Lim, the project leans into a refined, minimalist aesthetic. Utilizing a monochrome palette and analogue film techniques, the editorial explores a contemplative atmosphere through high-contrast natural light and chiaroscuro lighting. The compositions incorporate both gritty, textured surfaces and soft, ambient settings to create a narrative that is both documentary in spirit and carefully structured in its artistic direction.
