Modern Style Amid Tunisia’s Ancient ...

Sep 2026
Sotheby's presents a sophisticated editorial series that explores the dialogue between contemporary fashion and antiquity. Shot by photographer Brett Lloyd on location in Tunisia, the project situates modern tailoring against the backdrop of historic amphitheaters, intricate mosaic floors, and traditional architectural workshops. The visual narrative channels a documentary mood, utilizing natural light and analogue film techniques to capture the intersection of refined textiles and raw, weathered stone. Fashion editor and stylist Tony Irvine curates a wardrobe of structured blazers, textured knits, and clean-lined separates that lean into an earthy, monochromatic palette. The production features models Erika Barletta and Fares Ben M'barka, with casting directed by Rachel Chandler and hair styling by Joe Burwin. The result is a series of compositions that emphasize tactile textures—from antique pottery and plaster sculptures to historic tilework—to create a contemplative aesthetic.
