Mia Le Journal features actor Willem Dafoe in an intimate, documentary-style editorial spread that captures the subject within quiet, rural and domestic environments. Photographed by Jeannette Montgomery Barron and edited by Federica Trotta, the series trades traditional studio settings for candid, unscripted interactions with animals and natural landscapes. The project leans into a raw aesthetic, utilising monochrome imagery shot on analogue film to emphasise textures across rustic architecture and foliage. With a focus on high-contrast lighting and narrative storytelling, the layout presents Dafoe in grounded, everyday moments that move away from conventional portraiture, relying on minimalist typography to maintain a clean editorial feel.
