Le goût du M L'allure et les forêts

Dec 2025
In the striking series Le goût du M L'allure et les forêts for M Le magazine du Monde, the creative team curates a masterclass in atmospheric storytelling, bridging the gap between rugged naturalism and high-end luxury fashion. Under the vision of creative director Jean-Baptiste Talbourdet-Napoleone, the project channels a cinematic aesthetic that feels both timeless and deeply tactile. Photographer Théo de Gueltzl captures a series of editorial portraits that lean into low-key chiaroscuro lighting, emphasizing the raw, weathered textures of cabin-core environments against the opulence of faux fur, intricate knitwear, and structured layering. The imagery, enriched by the styling of Virginie Benarroch, skillfully contrasts the warmth of argyle patterns and tartan wraps with the cool, austere beauty of monochromatic woodland settings. With hair by Ramona Eschbach and makeup by Marie Duhart, the models Betsy Gaghan and Stella Hanan command the frame, their neutral, steady gazes grounding the elaborate compositions. Set designer Giovanna Martial contributes to the immersive nature of the project, crafting rustic interiors that feel authentic and lived-in. By blending the organic silhouette of birch trees with the structured elegance of high fashion, the work avoids static poses in favor of a narrative depth that celebrates the intersection of wilderness and style, ultimately defining a contemporary visual language that feels both storied and meticulously composed.
