Excès Autorisé

May 2026
In Excès Autorisé, a high-fashion editorial for M Le magazine du Monde, the creative team orchestrates an evocative study of materiality and excess. Under the sharp creative direction of Jean-Baptiste Talbourdet-Napoleone, the project explores the friction between luxury fashion houses and the accumulation of personal artifacts. Photographer Dario Catellani captures these scenes with a distinct focus on natural light, utilizing editorial techniques to transform domestic interiors into stages for opulent display. The series is bolstered by the precise styling of Anastasia Barbieri, whose work leans into a deliberate, elegant chaos where haute couture garments are layered amongst porcelain, vintage curiosities, and scattered luxury accessories. The imagery channels a maximalist aesthetic, with set designer Flavia Manacorda meticulously crafting environments that feel both lived-in and dreamlike. From a monochrome white bedroom to a moody, ruffle-filled wine cellar, the compositions invite a dialogue between the model and the vast array of surrounding objects. With beauty direction by hair stylist Joseph Pujalte and makeup artist Patrick Glatthaar, the talent—including Ida Heiner—becomes an integrated component of the broader visual narrative. This project succeeds by grounding high-end apparel in a tactile, textured reality, blending the polished sheen of luxury goods with the nostalgic, warm tones of traditional interiors to create a compelling, stylized archive of modern material culture.
