Lucire Magazine
'ROSE ECLIPSE'

Apr 2026
The Rose Eclipse project for Lucire Magazine presents a masterclass in modern beauty editorial, pushing the boundaries of color and texture through a series of high-impact portraits. Photographed by Alena Sazonova, the series leans into a vibrant, high-fashion aesthetic that prioritizes bold cosmetic application and sharp, graphic detail. Featuring model Daphne Maas, each frame functions as a precise study of form and pigment, utilizing heavy saturation—from metallic magentas and deep berry-pinks to electric purples—to challenge traditional portraiture norms. The project relies on a deliberate mix of studio strobe lighting to ensure every macro detail, whether it be the high-shine finish of a gloss or the precise application of winged eyeliner, remains perfectly articulated against clean, neutral, or cool-toned backdrops. By incorporating elements like geometric accessories and sheer tulle textures, Sazonova crafts a cohesive visual language that feels both avant-garde and meticulously polished. The editorial work succeeds by removing all distractions, focusing the viewer’s eye on the intersection of human expression and cosmetic artistry. Through its tight, symmetrical composition and fearless use of color, Rose Eclipse reinforces the power of the beauty portrait as a narrative tool, capturing a series of striking, commanding moments that highlight the technical precision required for high-end industry photography today.
