In the striking editorial series Lampoon MECCANO, photographer Walter Pierre crafts an evocative visual narrative that bridges the gap between high fashion and installation art. Commissioned by Lampoon Magazine, the project explores the tension between the human form and restrictive, geometric environments. By positioning model Raya Martigny within narrow glass display cases and structured wooden frameworks, Pierre channels a sense of confinement that feels both clinical and deeply intimate. The aesthetic relies on editorial minimalism and a deliberate, austere palette, where the interplay of light and shadow is paramount. Technique plays a central role in the storytelling, with the series moving fluidly between crisp, high-key studio strobe compositions and moody, analogue 35mm film captures that emphasize the raw textures of skin and fabric. The art direction, bolstered by the precise set design of Clement Pelisson, transforms everyday objects like craft paper, structured tailoring, and household items into sculptural elements.
