Jil Sander
Spring 2024 Ad Campaign

Jul 2024
The Jil Sander Spring 2024 ad campaign serves as a masterclass in modern luxury fashion, deftly balancing architectural precision with organic, tactile warmth. Under the creative direction of Lucie and Luke Meier, the project articulates a narrative of quiet refinement, where utilitarian structures collide with delicate, artisanal textures. Through the lens of photographer Nikki McClarron and the vision of director Stephen Kidd, the imagery leans into a minimalist aesthetic, utilizing natural light to elevate the inherent qualities of high-pile furs, iridescent technical fabrics, and intricate knitwear. The campaign unfolds across a series of thoughtfully composed environments, from the serene, expansive edges of a tranquil lake to stark, high-contrast studio settings that utilize controlled light to isolate form and silhouette. Stylist Malina Joseph Gilchrist expertly juxtaposes these elements, creating a dialogue between the rigid, structured jumpsuits and the fluid, breezy linen pieces. Each frame, whether a tight portrait or a broad lifestyle shot, maintains an editorial focus on material depth and clean, monochromatic lines. By integrating the work of hair stylist Daniela Magginetti and makeup artist Michiko Ikeda, the campaign avoids artifice, favoring a contemporary look that feels both grounded and aspirational. Ultimately, this collection of work captures the essence of a modern wardrobe where every stitch and fiber is considered, resulting in a cohesive, visually arresting campaign that defines the season through its own unique, sophisticated lens.
