For the latest edition of Hube Magazine, the project Sonny & Jan unfolds as a masterclass in editorial portraiture that leans into the raw, tactile intimacy of its subjects. Under the keen creative guidance of Editor-in-Chief Sasha Kovaleva, the team delivers a series of images that feel both grounded and strikingly composed, prioritizing a minimalist aesthetic that bridges the gap between lifestyle photography and high-end fashion. The visual narrative is defined by the evocative lens of photographer Steph Wilson, who expertly employs natural light and high-contrast techniques to highlight the subjects’ intricate tattoos, varied textures, and candid physical chemistry. Spanning a diverse array of settings—from rustic artist studios to weathered, domestic interiors—the editorial maintains a cohesive, cinematic quality throughout. Whether utilizing the grain and grit of 35mm film or the sharp intensity of low-key chiaroscuro lighting, each shot feels intentionally curated.
