Rouge Fashionbook How To Inhabit The Pause 2026

About

How To Inhabit The Pause is a sprawling fashion editorial series for Rouge Fashionbook that examines the quiet intersections of domesticity and high-end attire. Photographed by Johnson Lui, the project leans into a contemplative, narrative-driven aesthetic, moving fluidly between intimate indoor portraiture and expansive outdoor settings. Throughout the series, model Kai Schreiber acts as the central subject, often captured in candid, unguarded moments that evoke a nostalgic, analogue-film quality. The styling, helmed by Carolina Orrico, juxtaposes sheer textures and metallic fabrics against textured interiors and vintage architectural backdrops, all held together by soft natural light and subtle chiaroscuro techniques. With hair by Junya Nakashima and makeup by Kuma, the imagery maintains a cohesive, raw sensibility, further shaped by casting from Evagria Sergeeva.
