Into the Deep

Jul 2026
Into the Deep, a compelling fashion editorial for Harper's Bazaar Serbia, masterfully blurs the lines between high-end luxury fashion and the utilitarian world of scuba diving. Captured through the lens of photographers Luka Bošković and Stefan Stojanov, the project leans into a rigorous editorial aesthetic, defined by clean, minimalist studio environments and deliberate high-key lighting. The imagery features model Mijo Mihaljcic, whose neutral, steady gaze and slicked-back, wet-look hair serve as the common thread connecting a series of portraits that juxtapose sleek swimwear with technical gear like buoyancy compensator vests, snorkel masks, and diving fins. By integrating these aquatic motifs into a structured studio setting, the work channels a distinct visual tension between the organic, damp textures of the subject and the crisp, matte surfaces of professional diving equipment. Utilizing a mix of natural light and precise studio strobe setups, the series maintains a consistent, polished look that elevates simple black bikinis and utility belts into a broader conceptual statement. The result is a series of portraits that feel simultaneously athletic and avant-garde, emphasizing the sculptural beauty of the human form against a muted color palette. This project succeeds in transforming standard fashion tropes into a cohesive narrative, proving how editorial minimalism can successfully reinterpret functional objects into high-fashion accessories while remaining inherently wearable and visually striking.
