Loving Ibiza

Jun 2026
Loving Ibiza for Harper's Bazaar France is a masterclass in atmospheric storytelling, capturing the sun-drenched, carefree spirit of the Mediterranean through a sophisticated editorial lens. Photographer Alasdair McLellan expertly navigates the duality of the island, contrasting the high-fashion rigor of ornate lace textures and polished metallic accessories with the raw, youthful spontaneity of cafe culture and rugged coastal landscapes. Under the guidance of fashion director Elodie David Touboul, the campaign leans into a cinematic aesthetic that oscillates between high-contrast chiaroscuro studio portraits and the saturated warmth of golden hour lifestyle imagery. The work feels both nostalgic and contemporary, utilizing intentional graphic overlays and collage techniques to bridge the gap between Ibiza’s storied nightlife history and current luxury trends. Key to the project's visual impact is the collaboration with hair stylist Anthony Turner and makeup artist Mel Arter, whose touch brings a deliberate edge to the models, including Noor Khan and Fernando Lindez. By weaving together sharp editorial portraiture and candid snapshots of youth culture, the project masterfully elevates the standard fashion editorial into an immersive, sun-bleached narrative. Every frame, whether set against a gnarled olive tree or the vibrant turquoise waters of the coast, resonates with a tangible sense of summer momentum and polished, breezy elegance.
